Built to stay out of your way.
Your workflow in Cetec doesn't change. Nexline runs as a monitored background service on AWS, watching Cetec for new invoices, customer changes and product changes, and processing each at a speed matched to how urgent it actually is.
Real-time sounds better than it works.
A tax call on every keystroke adds 3–5 seconds to every invoice: minutes of standing around on a busy afternoon. Nexline batches work by priority instead.
Your compliance-critical moment. Calculation and the Avalara commit happen on post.
Room to edit the order before tax locks in, with accurate tax before anything ships.
New accounts and certificate changes are live well before that customer's first invoice.
Catalog updates affect future invoices, so they ride in the background.
From request to applied exemption, in five steps.
- Request
An exempt or newly onboarded customer is flagged in Cetec, and Avalara issues a CertExpress request.
- Customer completes
The customer fills out a guided, state-specific wizard: the correct form, the first time.
- Validate
Avalara checks the certificate against that state's requirements and stores the signed document.
- File to Cetec
Nexline writes the validated certificate and exemption data onto the Cetec customer record.
- Apply
The next invoice for that customer calculates with the exemption and entity use code applied.
The certificates module requires an Avalara subscription that includes exemption certificate management. We confirm entitlement with Avalara before install.
A two-minute daily habit.
Most customers spend under five minutes a day on Nexline. Many check once a week. If something needs attention, the system tells you.
Illustrative figures.
